Preferred Apartment: None.
Character Name: Katherine "Kitty" Pryde.
Canon: Marvel Comics (Earth-1610)
Canon Point: Ultimate Spider-man 121, after their "baby" is killed and the teacher gives them their B-.
Background/History: Right here!
Previous Game History: N/A
Personality: Kitty Pryde, first and foremost, is a teenage girl; a teenage girl who just happens to be a mutant. The only difference between her and any other teenager is the X-gene she was born with and the people who fear or hate her just for being born with it. She doesn’t feel she is superior to anyone who is “normal”. She feels she is still equal to everyone else, despite what they may say. She is rebellious, sassy, has a tendency to freak out, quick-tempered, and is extremely loyal to her friends. When the going gets tough, she gets tougher.
She first shows her rebellious nature when she joins the X-men after her powers were getting a little out of control. Her mother only dropped her off at the Institute to learn to control her powers, not to take part in any missions. However, despite the Professor wanting to follow her mother’s wishes, Kitty did the exact opposite. She learned to control her powers and snuck on her first few missions before she finally became a full-fledged member of the X-men.
Kitty also stands up for what she believes in (Issue 79* led to her leaving or being kicked out of the X-men), and is more than willing to call someone out if she thinks they need it. If she feels strongly about something, she will stick to it, whether anyone agrees with her or not, and it was even her views that led her to part ways or get kicked out of the X-men (yeah, it’s actually kind of unclear as she leaves in Ultimate X-men, but says she’s kicked out in Ultimate Spider-man). If anyone has a problem with her, she would rather they come to her face and flat out tell her instead of trying to beat around the bush or use some other method to communicate with her.
Another notable trait about Kitty is that she’s fiercely protective and loyal to her friends. If anyone is ever in need, and happen to be a friend of hers, you can count on her to have your back, no matter how dangerous the situation is or even when they least expect it. Even after she had a rather…messy break up with Peter and he didn’t return the feelings she still had for him, they still remained friends and she went to the wall to help him when he was taken in by SHIELD. She also works well with others thanks to her time with the X-men.
Despite being different because of her powers, Kitty, overall, is still a teenager and has some of the same strengths and weaknesses that any regular teenager would.
Abilities/Powers: Kitty is a mutant, so of course she has special powers. She's able to make herself intangible, meaning that she is able to move through any solid objects; buildings, trees, planes, bullets, knives, other people, you name it. On top of making herself intangible, she can extend her intangibility to anything (or anyone) she touches. Because of her ability, being intangible also gives her some level of invulnerability and super strength. Oh, yeah. She‘s a pretty skilled fighter thanks to her training with the X-men.
Items/Weapons: None. She’ll just have her costume and the charred remains of her “baby”.
Sample Entry: Test drive. Another thread. And an actual sample just in case.
[After some tinkering about with the device she was seemingly given, Kitty finally clicks it on. If she can’t find anyone by simply looking around or riding on the X-jet anymore, maybe this will help. With a sheepish smile, she finally addresses the screen.]
Um. Hi. My name’s Kitty Pryde, and I’m kind of new here and I have a couple of questions. One, what exactly is the deal with this place? Like, does anyone know how we ended up here since there’s apparently no way out?
And, two…are the X-men here? [Wait, no. They booted her. Maybe she should try someone else.] Or Spider-man….anyone from home?
[Yeah, probably a long shot, but it can’t hurt to try anyway, right? She clicks the device off, hoping someone will give her answers...preferably a familiar face.]
Sample Entry Two:
Phew. She finally made it through the tunnels in one piece. Being able to phase really has its perks.
As she begins to gather some supplies, Kitty can't help but think...is this place seriously supposed to be a haven? Meaning, is this really supposed to be a place to take refuge? To stay safe? Because no. Kitty's not getting that vibe and whoever picked it should be punched in the face. Sure, she's slowly getting used to it. Slowly. And maybe her time with the X-men helped her to prepare for survival-type situations like this, but being stuck here really stinks. She still wants to go home.
Oh, well. Once she finished gathering what she needed, Kitty made her way back to the tunnels. And, of course, here come the monsters again. With a deep breath, Kitty puts her powers to good use and runs through...dropping most of what she managed to grab.
"Oh, come on!"
All that trouble she went through only to drop everything she came for. Kitty really, really hates this place.
